If you want to position a window on your desktop more accurately, you should try to position it with arrow key. Because use of keyboard is better than mouse in this case.
If the window is on foreground then press Alt+spacebar. Then press "M" key. Now use the arrow keys to move the windows around desktop to move the program window. To set the position press ENTER or press ESC to return to the previous position.
